How to Make the (Show Desktop) Icon

One of the icons in the task bar is the (show desktop) icon which enable to view the whole desktop when clicking on it. It's very useful when you have a lot of programs opened then you want to jump to a file, folder or any other item on the desktop. Also, if you are one of those who care about privacy much and on a shared computer to hide all your stuff and whatever you are working on once anybody comes into your room.

Accidents might happen and you can delete that icon by mistake. It's not a shortcut that you can replace back easily. Today's post I'll show you how to make this icon in case you deleted it by mistake, it disappear or just to know how =)

So, let's get started!

1. Open the notepad.

2. Copy this code into it:
 [Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

3. From the drop down menu (file) choose (Save as).

4. Name it (Show Desktop.scf)

5. Save it in the following path:
C:\Documents and Settings\XXXX\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

6. Change the (XXXX) into your PC's user name. Most of the time it's administrator

Do drop a comment to tell me about your result =)
