And There it Goes

So, it's the end of the year already!

We started this year with many dreams and wishes. Some are done and some are missed still we did are best and lived it through the very end. I did all I can but I still missed really big issue and hoping to make them up this year.

Here are a bit of what I accomplished this year

* Kept up this blog for a post everyday
* Found a new job and stayed there for a year
* Got a bit more social
* Got back to my Japanese

Sadly there are the only things but at least I did some better than none. I discovered new things and learnt more about the world and people. Troubles and problems taught me how to deal with life and people that I never thought I'll met like them in my life.

Overall, it was an okay year. I hope yours was okay too.
Do share what was it like for you =)

Think Before You Speak

Before it used to be a saying I hear from wise people's mouth but when I really went through it I realized what it meant by every seconds passage.

Honestly! You should think before you say anything, you might end up with an eternity punishment for something you said without really meaning it. The thing is when my boss asked me if it's okay to share his secretary's work with me I didn't think about it for a sec. and gave an answer right away later, just when everything was over already I noticed that it's not fair to go that way but he didn't take it back though it's not right from the first place.

Now, every time I see her playing cause her work is less thanks to my big mouth and small thinking I know what does this saying mean. Later, when I ever face anything even if it's a no-big-deal seeming thing, I consider before giving an answer.

Let others experience be a lesson to you too and don't let this happen to you.

A High School Speech

A High School Speech.jpg
A speech given at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school.

He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school.

You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity.

Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault,

so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7
: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now.

Stop Doing that Already!

Speak Your Mind!

Write your honest thought about this question, they are on no certain basis. Just some wondering things to express yourself and state your opinion about it.

Today's question: What is your biggest pet peeve?!

Chocolate Puff Pastry Bites

chocolate puff pastry bites
Puff pastry has to be one of the seven wonders of the culinary world. For me at least, it’s right up there with caramelizing sugar and emulsions. I know how it works, I understand the science, but doggonit if it doesn’t make my head shake when I watch the magic happen.

chocolate puff pastry bites

In a nutshell, puff pastry is made by folding the buttery dough over and over and over onto itself so when its baked, it expands like a blowfish on steroids. Traditionally, it was time-consuming to make, but now we have all these shortcuts and even frozen versions, which I hate to admit, I LOVE to use.  When unexpected company drops by to say hello, one can take a thawed sheet of puff pastry, shove in some chocolate chips, cover with coconut flakes and bake it all in the oven for quick sweet appetizer or mini dessert.

chocolate puff pastry bites

These little puffs start out looking like ravioli, but they rise (and rise) to yield little flaky cubes with melty chocolate centers. By all means, experiment – I imagine adding a little strawberry jam or orange marmalade to the mix wouldn’t hurt. Using your own puff pastry instead of buying it frozen would up the awesomness of the dish, but there’s nothing wrong with the pre-made frozen kind, especially if you’re pressed for time.

TEQUILA AND SALT

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it every day.
You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.

2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just l like you.

4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.

5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

6. You mean the world to someone.

7. You are special and unique.

8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.

9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.

10. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take another look.

11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

And always remember.....

When life hands you lemons, Ask for Gin and Ginger beer and call me over!!

Five Minutes Friday: Review

Well, as I mentioned before Lisa-jo won't be posting any new 5 Minutes Friday until the new year so I'd like to take this change and write a little review and opinion about this cool idea.

When I first saw this I thought it was a difficult thing to do, considering the time I should write in but then I said I'll give it a try. It was really fun, I mean like writing without thinking and just letting your mind say what it has without worrying whether it's right or not. I felt honest with myself and saw the things I have in me.

By time my typing, reading and even thinking got fast. I got to read what others have to say, the things their mind wonder about for the same word, or topic as in this post's case. It was wonderful. I sometimes wonder where people get such great ideas from?! Guess it's by doing odd and new stuff you get something of your own.

I hoped that I'll write one today but I remember that she's holding it for a new fresh start. That's my thought about 5 Minutes Friday, what's yours?!

Your True Worth

A man was giving a literature about believing in one’s self then he pulled out a 500 note from his wallet and said: “If I were to give this away to anybody for free?! Who would take it!?” Many people raised their hands in favor of taking it, then he squished the note with his plame and asked again ; "Does anybody still want it?!" The hands didn't go down, there were still up. Again he throw it on the ground and stepped on it, it was very filthy and got some dirt on it, lastly he asked; "Anyone!?" They still wanted it.

Then he said, we people are like the note of money. We fail down, get upset and even get some depression dirt on us but we don't lose our value just like you guys wanted it cause despite getting through all that it remind the same in the value.

So, that's how life is. You will fall down and go through a lot but your worth will be the same. The factors and going through won't change a bit from it.

Monday Thoughts on Failures in Life

Failing! What an ugly word!

Bet there’s a lot who doesn’t want to have any in their life but whether we want it or not we did fail in some point and would make it up to our purposes.

Still it’s okay, right!?

I mean without them we wouldn’t have learnt precious lessons. Without failing I wouldn’t want to go up again. Sometimes, I went up just because to prove I’m not a failure rather than the goal itself. It also was the greatest push that allowed me to forward more than any other factor.

When failing it’s a hard feeling, as if you are a complete loser can’t do anything at all, like a dead person who can’t make any difference. There’s also that fear that comes afterward that you won’t success or don’t want to try just to not have that feeling again. I know how hard that is cause I went through all of them.

But you know what the fun part is, is when you fail many times then at the end with determination you make it. It shows how your tries were worth it, the many you get the many you feel proud of. I know without them I wouldn’t have figured things out, many I would have been on the right path all the time but if I faced something new or a problem I know nothing about I won’t be able to fix it.

Failing is not a problem on its own, it hurt but in a useful. Unless you pull yourself out of it, you’ll remain lost. Try seeing why it happened, a wrong turn perhaps, not right time, your mood was down. Whatever is the reason has to be done by you.

If determination, people, dreams and desires are reason to success that failure is the strongest one of them all!

Little Rather None

You know how boring life becomes when there’s nothing to do or the same things keep on repeating themselves over and over again. Sometimes we can’t help it cause they have to be done but to have them everybody creates a really boring routine that you rather not do.

Or you keep on doing them the same way every time. Same time, same things, same result, same method and all the stuff that makes you yawn from boredom. Not everything you can leave for something new or stop doing them, but there’s always something else to add to make it different and a bit more fun to do.

There are things you can do to have a refreshing life again …

Home is Where You Belong not Come from

There’s a difference between house and home.

The first one is where you live; it can be anywhere with your family or without them. There can be other people too. While the other one is where you live with your family and it’s yours. Like no rent or anything cause simply it’s the one place you belong to when there’s no other one to go.

As I have this on mind I always think of KSA as my home, home country that is. Yeah! I know I’m Asian which means I’m not a Middle Eastern but sill I feel like this is my home. All my life, ever since I was born and even when I was in my mother’s body I was here, born here, grew up here, went to school and even finished my education. I know the entire place, the native language, the customs, people, events and festivals, everything a native would know, is me.

You see when they say home they mean like this, to know everything, to be part of, it doesn’t really matter which language you use to most as long as you can blend with the people around you. When you can go anywhere not having that cold feeling of a stranger in the wild that is your home, just like mine.

Once Every 100 Year

Today's date is very special, the kind that happens rarely every time.
It's .... 12 - 12 -12, unique, huh?!

I got nothing much to say about date itself but rather something really important I learnt this year. Surely I've seen better days but this year was completely different.

People aren't like before anymore and in the same time I can't just say everybody is a lair cause one of them betrayed us before. They will come and go in our life and if we got hurt by one of them it doesn't mean to lock ourselves in a room and close the door from any other harm. The thing is the learn our to deal with them and not give our trust to whoever.

I know I've already sided the not forgiving people but know I learnt there's more in life that just being mad at someone. I even realized the power of forgiving. Life is short and if we can't help others live their lives free from guilt then there's no meaning in that.

This year my heart has grown stronger not from winning a fight or crushing someone but from learning how to forgive. It's a hard thing only the strong ones can do it and I do consider myself one since it was hard on myself once in the past.

I hope you too learnt something this year that you had a negative thought about before.

Cool Funny Quotes

I say no to drugs,  they just don't listen.

A friend in need is a pest indeed.

Marriage is one of the chief causes of divorce.

Work is fine if it doesn't take too much of your time.

When everything comes in your way you're in the wrong lane.

The light at the end of the tunnel may be an incoming train.

Born free, taxed to death.

Everyone has a photographic memory, some just don't have film.

Life is unsure; always eat your dessert first.

Smile, it makes people wonder what you are thinking.

Life's Five Great Lessons

1 - Most Important Lesson - "Remember my name"

During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I was a onscientious student and had breezed through the questions, until I read the last one: "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?"

Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired and in her 50s, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank.

Just before class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our quiz grade. "Absolutely," said the professor. "In your careers, you will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say 'hello'.

I've never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her name was Dorothy.

2 - Second Important Lesson - " Pickup in the Rain"

One night, at 11:30 PM, an older African American woman was standing on the side of an Alabama highway trying to endure a lashing rainstorm.

Her car had broken down and she desperately needed a ride. Soaking wet, she decided to flag down the next car. A young white man stopped to help her, generally unheard of in those conflict-filled 1960s.

The man took her to safety, helped her get assistance and put her into a taxicab. She seemed to be in a big hurry, but wrote down his address and thanked him. Seven days went by and a knock came on the man's door. To his surprise, a giant console color TV was delivered to his home.

A special note was attached. It read: "Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway the other night. The rain drenched not only my clothes, but also my spirits Then you came along. Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying husband's bedside just before he passed away. God bless you for helping me and unselfishly serving others."

Sincerely,

Mrs. Nat King Cole.

3. - Third Important Lesson - "Always Remember Those Who Serve."

In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less, a 10 year old boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him. "How much is an ice cream sundae?" he asked. "Fifty cents," replied the waitress.

The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and studied the coins in it.  "Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?" he inquired. By now more people were waiting for a table and the waitress was growing impatient.

"Thirty-five cents," she brusquely replied."

The little boy again counted his coins. "I'll have the plain ice cream," he said. The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table and walked away. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and left. When the waitress came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the table. There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, were two nickels and five pennies.

You see, he couldn't have the sundae, because he had to have enough left to leave her a tip.

4 - Fourth Important Lesson - "The Obstacle in Our Path"

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the road clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way.

Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded.

After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the king indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway.

The peasant learned what many of us never understand.

Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.

5 - Fifth Important Lesson - "Giving When it Counts"

Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who was suffering from a rare and serious disease. Her only chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion from her 5-year old brother, who had miraculously survived the same disease and had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness.

The doctor explained the situation to her little brother, and asked the little boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister. I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a deep breath and saying," Yes, I'll do it if it will save her."

As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the color returning to her cheek. Then his face grew pale and his smile faded. He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling voice, "Will I start to die right away?"

Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his sister all of his blood in order to save her.

You see, after all, understanding and attitude, are everything.

There are Things we Can't Stop but Deal with

Things that can't be undo, that won't be back, no matter how much tear is wasted and burning wishes are hold, they won't stop.

Losing something, someone or even yourself is like death that means everything is over, and this time for good! A hard time and situation where others will comfort with relaxing and take it easy words while for the one who lost, it's like the end of the world.

Honestly! No one but them will understand it since they are the ones who are going through this. It's like half of the self is here in the present  while the other half is in the afterlife world. It's more than just a sorrow, more ....

than changing your profile picture to an EMO one.

than that feeling when you miss you favorite show.

than listening a song that has sad lyrics

than turning everything black-ish all of a sudden

than updating Facebook with gloomy updates

than not seeing your lover for one night

than getting yelled at for no reason just because

than being misunderstood by others

than not having anything to eat or even drink for the whole day

than hearing bad things are being said behind your back

than being abounded and down

than being hated by the ones who should love you!

than being misunderstood

than being betrayed after giving your all and being faithful for those who don't deserve it

than not talking the whole day cause someone upset you

It's OVER! Certain and no back up on this one!

10 Writing Tips of Famous Authors You Can Use

With nearly a hundred literary masterpieces between them, Kurt Vonnegut, John Steinbeck, and C.S. Lewis could be considered experts on the writing process. Fortunately for those who chose to take up the career in their wake, these famous authors left behind valuable tips and tricks to make the process easier.

While the blog’s conception was decades after their time, their knowledge is still applicable to the trade. Check out these 10 writing tips of the famous authors. See how relevant they are to your blog today.

Kurt Vonnegut

Idealised workspace, 2011 Our first five tips come from Kurt Vonnegut. He instructed writers on how to establish a convincing and effective writing style. A paraphrase of his remarkable thoughts is as follows:

1. If your thoughts are scrambled any which way, your readers will think you don’t care about them.

2. Keep it simple. William Shakespeare used extremely simple sentences to convey extremely profound topics. For example, consider the famous line, “To be or not to be?” from Hamlet; the longest word is three letters long! Even the Bible opens with a simple, straight forward proclamation: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

3. No matter how wonderful a sentence is,

if it doesn’t add new and useful information it should be removed.

4. Say what you mean. If I ignored the rules of punctuation, invented words, and strung it all together any way I chose, no one would understand me.

5. Write on a topic that you are passionate about and which you feel others should care about too. It is your passion, not your eloquent language skills, which will be most compelling.

Today’s Lesson

Facing your problem and solving them out is you way to be relaxed afterward and if you’re thinking running away from them will make you feel better than you are totally dead wrong.

Cause if you leave just like that the problem will remain; when you work it out it’s over. Weather you are there or not. I used to hate people when they make fuse about stupid simple things with me and always preferred to run away but that wasn’t any of a use since they come back to me later since it’s there and I’m the one who walked away from the trouble not the problem itself.

It’s so troublesome and I know it but also it’s worth it. That way you’ll improve yourself facing any other situations, get stronger and beat the matter itself.

Today will never come AGAIN!

I used to be one of those people will live in the future, more like hold myself from every thing so I will enjoy them later on. I didn’t give myself the things it longed to and was so unfair with it.

When time came near I realized this and thought of making out with myself. I was hard, I really was! I know now that time is short and that we’ll once live once or no one knows how long so why not give it everything now rather than the future that I don’t know if I’ll ever live till it or not?!

No one grantees anything, not even what will happen today. You have start with wonderful morning but you can’t make sure it’ll last like this till the evening or even noon, can you?! I’m not telling you to take things badly just think positively, something good might happen too, on the opposite, never take any chances for bad stuff or happen or ruin you mood.

Starting from today or better yet from now do all those stuff you hold yourself from, no matter how small or silly you think they are, at least you are doing what you want. Not doing them now will be the biggest regret will wish you never had.

Even if I’m at the end or before it I’ll be doing what I want cause if I finish it’ll be like I came to an end with doing what I like. It’s sad when you know that you kept for the later time and start with it is over already.

So better live today than tomorrow and always think positive.

Every Ending was a Beginning Once

I’m so in this thought right now. The New Year is still far away yet this line is in my mind since a month or so. I always look forward to the ends but this time I hope the present will last forever though I know it won’t.

So, how was everything lately?!
Well, I know it’s a bit too early for it but it won’t hurt for the things we learnt so far, no!? As for the beginning I was so excited for the new year to come that is 2012 and I have good believes and truly optimistic that everything well go well. In fact they did but not as I thought. Everything was okay I guess.

I always wonder how every year is new at the start and old at the end, I guess the secret behind it is that there’s another one afterward. Like if there isn’t anything later it won’t be an old one rather the last.

I always like to start my projects with the start of the year or month, it seems more exciting that way and I feel really fresh and once it’s at the middle and I couldn’t keep up my plans I don’t have the mood to carry on as if like the beginnings give me more intentions to do my projects. It’s a bad thing you know, cause you’ll be like delaying you stuff just for the time while you can start from anywhere. This year I learnt to leave this bad habit but didn’t over come it completely still I’m trying.

Anything you take from the start is really interest, you feel like you can do it, you wake up really early in the morning to get on with, give it extra more times and totally enjoy yourself doing them. Even when time passes by the real thing you’ll need is the desire. Time won’t do you much, okay maybe the one you need to finish your stuff in beside that like the perfect or right time isn’t needed. What you need is the will and thing, not when and where.

Guess this is one of the precious things I learnt this year and wanted to add to my memorable post. Please do write down the most important one you learnt too this year. I’d love you learn from you too ^^

10 Writing Tips All Bloggers Must Adhere To

Look, there are a lot of people out there that are going to tell you how to write. Some will give your ideas on topics, some will give your ideas on how to create title, and some will just tell you to use proper grammar. While all those things are important, I grant you, what are most important in blog writing are two things: passion and consistency. Unlike any other type of writing, with blog writing you get an audience based not only on WHAT you write but on HOW OFTEN you write it. No one will follow a blog that is only updated every few months. With that in mind, here are some writing tips for you:

writing on paper and laptop Write often You have to keep up with blog readers. They demand a certain level of post updates. It is just a fact of blogging. You cannot abandon your blog and expect it to survive. You cannot take a hiatus and expect to come back to the same number of readers. You have to write often enough to keep up with your readers. On some blogs that means once or twice a week, but for some blogs they require daily or even more frequent updates.

Write regularly You can’t just toss up four or five posts on one day and call it a week. It will not work. You must, must, MUST write on a consistent basis. That may mean that you post every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, or every Tuesday and Thursday, or every day but Sunday. Whatever your method is, if it works then stick with it. If it does not work than change it up. But whatever you do keep it regular.

Write short – No one wants to read a novel on your blog. If you like to write long meandering posts and people seem to like them than great. Just break them up for me, will you? A bunch of shorter posts is better than one long post that is all over the place. You can even separate it is not part one, part two and so one so that people can easily follow along. This is a great method for making the most out of your how to posts as well, as they have to keep reading to find the next direction.

Write clearly All the writing and posting in the world is not going to cut it if your writing is junk. You have to be clear. Some things that can mess you up are jargon that readers might be unfamiliar with, undefined acronyms, and just a lack of good writing skills. If you are not a native speaker please, please, please have someone who is look over your work before you post it. There are some things that are just hard to translate. I know you have a lot to share, but be careful that you do not scare away readers with your lack of clarity.

Blessings and Gratitude

As going through this life I went through many situations just like any other persons. There are times when I thought I own the world, times when things seemed okay and hard times when I was totally broken. All these taught me different lessons to the time I was living in.

Over all I realized something really important that can’t be taught with money. Even when you don’t get what you’re looking for you should always be grateful to whatever you got cause owning something you can use is better than the thing you’re just longing. I’m not saying you can’t wish for new stuff but if it took a long time or you couldn’t find it at the end you shouldn’t be upset at all.

There was a moment in my life I need a job so badly that I said I would give anything for it and now that it’s been almost a year since I had it I realized that real things I had before it! It’s ironic, no!

True that money helped me a lot and made me do things I wasn’t able to before but compared to achievements I did before having it was less. It’s amazing! REALLY!  While I was expecting the opposite I was totally wrong but I did find that out with my own personal experience.
